So sweet, so seedless and so easy-to-peel! The Tango Tangerine is always one of our Farmers’ Market favorites because of its constant high quality fruit. The Tango is deliciously sweet and with good acid to balance the flavors. The rind peels like a zipper off the fruit making it perfect for easy prep work!
The Tango is cousins with the Murrcott making it a late season Tangerine however they differ because the Tango is completely seedless! This variety was developed at the University of California, Riverside in 2007 and has been a favorite and a success ever since!
Mix Tango Tangerines with Endive and fellow seasonal citrus, like the Star Ruby Grapefruit, and drizzle with Ginger vinaigrette! We always love a buttery, flaky pastry with Tangos and fresh berries. Change up your traditional spring ham and dress with a sweet Tangerine glaze; it may just become a new tradition!
