It's Stone Fruit season, and Apricots are amongst our favorites!🍑

Apricot is Latin for Precious, a label that this fruit has earned since it is ready to harvest earlier than other summer fruits. It will give to gentle pressure once ripe, and when halved, the pit will fall right out giving to beautiful slices. Have a sweet tooth? Serve it with Roquefort or Camembert cheese for a refreshing appetizer or light dessert.

Ramps, aka wild leeks, are one of the members of what we call the Spring Trilogy (Ramps, Fiddlehead ferns, and Morel mushrooms).

While related to leeks, the flavor of ramps is a bit more pungent, but usually never overpowering. Long prized as an abundant and sustainable food source in Appalachia, the harvest signaled the end of the long and cold winter months, providing a welcome and much-needed tonic.
